About MACRO Brands

MACRO Brands is a full-service food and beverage product development and co-manufacturing company based in California. We take products from concept through production and beyond — formulation, thermal processing, regulatory compliance, and frictionless manufacturing powered by AI.

What We Do:

01 — Formulation

Formulation

Your recipe is just the starting point. Our food scientists reverse-engineer your kitchen formula and rebuild it for commercial production — adjusting pH, water activity, viscosity, and emulsion stability so it survives thermal processing without sacrificing flavor or mouthfeel. Whether you’re targeting retort, aseptic, tunnel pasteurization, or cold fill, we dial in every ingredient ratio, source clean-label alternatives when needed, and run accelerated shelf-life studies so you go into your first production run with a formula that’s locked, validated, and ready to scale.

02 — MicroThermic

MicroThermic Processing

Most processors force you to commit tens of thousands of dollars to a production run before you know if your thermal process actually works. Our in-house MicroThermics AI Series UHT/HTST processor eliminates that gamble entirely. With both direct steam injection and indirect heat exchange in a single bench-top unit, we replicate the exact thermal curve your product will see at commercial scale — pasteurization, ultra-high-temperature sterilization, or anything in between. Send us a half-gallon sample, and within days we deliver validated time-temperature data, microbial kill-step confirmation, and sensory benchmarks so you can green-light production with zero ambiguity. Every run is logged with real-time AI monitoring that flags deviations before they become problems, giving you a thermal process file that satisfies FDA, your co-packer, and your retail buyer on day one.

03 — Co-Packing

Co-Packing

Scaling from pilot to full production is where most emerging brands stall — quality drifts, timelines slip, and per-unit costs balloon. Our co-packing operation is built to prevent all three. We run tunnel pasteurization, retort, aseptic hot-fill, ESL bottling, and HPP cold-press across multiple lines, each with dedicated CIP systems and allergen-segregated bays so your product never touches someone else’s run. From 5,000-unit test batches to million-case annual contracts, every job gets a dedicated production coordinator, real-time batch dashboards, and a quality hold protocol that won’t release a single pallet until COA, micro, and sensory all clear. We handle procurement, warehousing, and 3PL coordination so you get one invoice and one point of contact from raw ingredient to delivered case.

Supply Chain Intelligence

The food and beverage industry loses billions every year to manual coordination — reordering ingredients too late, missing quality flags mid-run, filing compliance paperwork after the fact, and paying premium freight because nobody saw the stockout coming. Autonomi’s agentic supply chain replaces that patchwork with 29 purpose-built AI agents that monitor, decide, and act across your entire operation in real time. From vendor sourcing and procurement automation to production scheduling, quality intelligence, and last-mile logistics, every handoff is orchestrated by agents that share a unified data layer — so a raw-material delay in stage one automatically adjusts your production calendar, notifies your 3PL, and updates your retail buyer before anyone picks up a phone. The result: fewer stockouts, tighter margins, full traceability from farm to shelf, and a supply chain that gets smarter with every order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your minimum order quantities?

It depends on the process. For pilot trials, we can test 500-gallon batches. For full production runs, MOQs vary by line — contact us to discuss your specific product and we’ll give you a straight answer.

How long from first contact to first production run?

For brands with a finished, validated formula with all commercialization process in place, 4–8 weeks is typical for scheduling and producing your first run. If you need formulation support, process development, or pilot trials first, add 8–12 weeks depending on complexity. We’ll give you a realistic timeline on our first call.

Do you help with formulation or just fill?

Both. We have in-house food product development teams with 30+ years of experience at companies like Gerber, Pepsi, Tropicana, KDP, La Colomb, Kellogg, and Kraft Heinz. Whether you need a formula built from scratch, optimized for a specific process, or just validated through thermal processing — we can help.

What's the difference between retort and aseptic?

Retort processing sterilizes the product after it’s sealed in the container (can or glass bottle). Aseptic processing sterilizes the product and the container separately, then fills in a sterile environment. Both produce shelf-stable products. Retort is ideal for cans and denser products. Aseptic is ideal for PET bottles and products where fresh flavor retention is critical. We offer both — we can help you determine which is right for your product.

Can you do organic production runs?

Yes. Our facilities are USDA Organic certified. We can produce organic beverages across all of our manufacturing processes — retort, aseptic, and cold brew. We follow strict organic handling protocols including dedicated cleaning procedures and full batch documentation for organic traceability.

What certifications do you hold?

USDA Organic, SQF Level 2, HACCP, FDA Registered, GMP Certified, Kosher, and NSF Certified. Our Process Authority has 30 years of experience in thermal process validation and LACF compliance. These certifications mean your product meets the standards required by major retailers, natural food stores, and foodservice distributors.
