RETORT Canning

HIGH ACID & LOW ACID

Shelf stable beverages with JBT Static Retort Pasteurization. Steam is directly injected in the bottom of the retort for fast and uniform come-up. Water sprays running over the entire shell length intensely mix the steam and water and create a homogeneous temperature distribution that results in a uniform process throughout the retort. Indirect, sterile cooling via a plate heat exchanger saves water and eliminates the need for water treatment chemicals.

Aseptic Bottling

ASEPTIC BEVERAGE MANUFACTURING

Aseptic beverage manufacturing is a bottling technique that uses flash thermal treatment to sterilize the liquid product before aseptically filling into a previously sterilized container, inside of a sterilized environment. Aseptic manufacturing preserves fresh, quality ingredients into shelf-stable products without preservatives. This process gives foods and beverages (like Juices, smoothies, functional drinks, and dairy products) longer, fresher shelf-life by virtually eliminating all microorganisms that causes spoilage. The benefits of aseptic processing over conventional pasteurization methods include longer shelf life, clean label, and improved nutrition.

ASEPTIC & EXTENDED SHELF LIFE

Preserve quality and freshness for better-for-you beverages, including plant-based milks and coffee lattes. Flash Pasteurization techniques do not heat up your product but are able to produce high acid and low acid beverages in PET bottles and Bag-in-box packaging.

Membrane Aseptic Filling Process

Membrane Aseptic Filling Process: Bags are pre-sterilized and ready for filling. Every bag has either a 32 millimeter or 16 millimeter gland that has two membranes. On the outside of the bag, the top membrane is fully sealed across the top of the gland. Inside the bag, the bottom membrane is only partially sealed across the bottom of the gland. After the bag is placed into the filler, the machine sterilizes the filling pathway and the top membrane of the bag with steam at high temperature, ensuring a sterility assurance level validated by the FDA. Then, the full head plunger pierces the top membrane and withdraws into the fill head, allowing the sterile product to flow past the partially sealed bottom membrane and into the bag. After filling to the required accuracy, the bottom membrane is heat sealed to the gland from below. The bag does not seal to the membrane due to the different materials used in the construction of the bag and the membrane. While all this is occurring, the inside of the gland is cleaned by a high-pressure steam flush. The advantage of this system is that it is a closed system and the product being filled is not exposed to the outside atmosphere at any stage.
